Well since you are new to the group it's understandable that you would either assume we all know what model jeep you have or that you assume all models have the same water pump and manuals.
1-We have no idea what model jeep you have.
solution: always tell us each post or just add your jeep model to your signature element in your profile and it will always show up in all your posts, all the time.
2-There are several part number pumps but fortunately they interchange however the manuals are different.

Sorry about not giving details. I have a 1952 m38a1, I assume that it is the original f head or which ever the motor is. I have been doing a somewhat rebuild, trying to keep as much original as I can. The water pump starts leaking agter it has set for a day. I have removed it and the rebuild kit I have is not the same, just wanting some direction.
thanks

Have you read the detailed rebuild instructions in the appropriate manual?
What tells you the rebuild kit is different from the water pump? Where did you buy the kit and what is the kit's part number?
If you also include your location in your profile people nearby you will often offer to stop over and help you out.

Down just 3 lines below is Signature: and to the right type in your real first name and 1952 M38A1
Then at the bottom of the page click the "Submit" button.
