M38A1 windshield glass

Post by wilfreeman »

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a place (mailorder will be fine) that sells (or cuts) 'A1 glass for less than $72/side? I got a price from my local glass shop for $72.58/side - I thought I saw it somewhere for around $40/side (can't remember which website because it's been awhile). I'm not quite ready for it just yet - I just got the body back from my brother's shop today, but I figured I would get started on ordering the last few parts I needed. Anyway, any help would be appreciated!

Hi,

That sounds about right actually. I remember paying around $140 total for mine. They installed it in the frame too.

Well, at least I know I'm not getting ripped off! I don't think my glass shop will install it for me though - at least it's easy to install! I'm not quite ready to install glass yet anyway - I still have to paint the thing!

Thanks - Matt

Don't know how much you will actually save with shipping but there is a left side on eBay for 15.00 right now.FYI

I saw that - missed the auction while I was at work! I guess I'll bite the bullet! One new question: Is the original glass tinted (that light green tint that new safety glass has), or clear?
