T-Case Nut 7032635

Post by Hawkshadow »

Attempting to put the nut on my Transfer case (Part# 7032635 as per Ord 9) and I have encountered a problem. The manual describes the nut as 3/4-16NF-3 and then states (page 201) that it replaced a nut which was 3/4-20NF-3. My output shaft has threads at 3/4-20NF but apparently this nut is nearly impossible to find! I have asked several Nuts-and-bolts suppliers who have said that this nut doesn't exist and forget finding it at a standard parts store - automotive or general.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to find a 3/4-20NF-3 Nut in either castle or hug configuration? I believe that it was used on a couple of other vehicles over time as well.

Thanks!

Thanks for the advice! Cabinfever got me thinking that instead of trying to find a nut from a nuts-and-bolts shop, I should try a jeep shop. After flipping through the national4wd catalogue there it was. It's a $4 nut with a 1-2 week wait time, but the search is over.

Going to a car place was more successful than several nuts-and-bolts experts… who would have guessed?

Thanks again!

AND you might want to call some of the military vehicle parts houses who specialize in parts for your jeep.
