m38a1 year
I have a m38a1 and the data plate says 10/52. Is it a 1952 or 1953?

The military contract acceptance dates are calendar. It is an October 1952 unit. Since this is the board for starting a long term description of your restoration why not finish describing your project and your goals for it.
