DIPSTICK
It was a good day to change oil on Sunday. Got to studying the dipstick and noticed the graduations and markings seem to be hand cut/stamped. Were they all like this or am I victim of a motor pool monkey with time on his hands and a sense of humor?? I got a chuckle over the "MT" marking at the bottom of the stick.

You have to change the oil in these things? Thought you just kept adding as it leaked out.
Mine doesn't look like that but then again mine is a civy engine. Seems odd a factory stamping would abbreviate 'empty' as MT but since Brian shows the same, I guess it could be so. That is rather funny though.

It's kind of funny that MT or EMPTY are marked on the sticks at all. I guess they didn't trust GI Joe to figure out that no oil on the dip stick meant that the engine was low on oil. And what about the guy who's brain hurt when he tried reconciling oil showing on the EMPTY mark with the meaning of the word?
