Tempeture gauge won't work ???

Post by ARMOND »

I have a new gauge. With a new sending unit
I checked continunity of the 33. And 27 tagged wires they are ok
I ran another ground directly to the gauge

Still won't work
I if I put a ohm meter on the 33 wire at the gauge
Should the ohm meter change as the motor warms up.
What should the reading be when the motor is at operating temp...????

Any other help would be appreciated
Thnx

There are two separate ground circuits required for the gauge to work properly. The power off 27 passes thru the gauge and on to ground thru the sender. The gauge case must be grounded through the gauge cluster, thru the dash to the tub for the gauge to drive the needle. If eaither ground is poor or missing she won't work properly.

With that said I refer you to instrument troubleshooting guide in our downloads section:
