Rear Hub Key

Sorry, I used a plain word and not the actual spec... but the idea was to get the hub on and the key in place...

torque can be added appropriately after you get the hub on...

I measured both of my keys, and they are .3125 x .248 x 2 7/8".
So, that means they are the correct keys and I assume the measurement in the parts manual is incorrect.
I'm guessing my new hub key slot is just not 'worn' enough to accept the key. I'm going to rub the key on some 400 grit sandpaper and see if I can get it to slide in.

Try the old fashion way mentioned above and put the key in the axle slot and then slide the hub on! You'll be amazed at how much easier it is!

Well, I figured out what my problem is last night while spending about an hour trying to get this NOS hub from Debella's on. The key slot inside the new hub is not deep enough. At least it is not deep enough when you get the key about half way on.
So what should I do? Have about 5000ths taken off the key? Take a file to the inside of the hub key slot? Return the hub and get a different one? I suppose if I return it I will have to get new studs again...
