Fording valve crossover pipe

Post by ACRay »

So, I got to connect to some interwebz for a bit and, of course, the first thing I did was start looking for M38 stuff. Wanted to see if anyone could tell me if this would be correct fording valve for a M38 or just an M38A1

I would search, I would look through the TMs ... but I have limited time on a computer for now sorry!

I reduced the size of your photo to eliminate the widening of the screen requirement for the rest of us to view it. Try to limit your photo sizes to less than 200K file sizes.

If you will take a short while and download the PDF manuals to a carry around device you will then always have them at your disposal. The answer I provided came from these manuals which are free to you.

That's for an A1. The M38 unit is ORD# 7375130, WO# 801582

Here's the M38A1 unit

This is the M38 unit.

The vent valve is ORD# 7410836 which is correct for the A1 and was the later valve used on the M38. So if you only need the valve then buy it and sell the crossover tube to an A1 guy,

Hi Man!
Good to hear from you!

The last valve listed in Ord9 740 for the M38 is 7410836.

This same valve is shown in the M38a1 Engine and Clutch Manual.
The valve is not shown separately in your assembly. The crossover
pipe will not work

Hope this helps.
Take care!

Aaron, ya good to hear from you!!
Note that G758 will be M38A1.
Look for G740 when you're looking for M38 specific.
keep 'em rollin'
