I recently re-built the front diff for my M38. Everything seemed fine until I installed new Rzeppa axels. Now there is a distinct rumble sound when I turn the diff yoke. The diff was smooth as butter before I installed the Rzeppas. Hard to tell if this is the diff making the noise or the axel joints themselves. Is this a concern? If it is, what would be the issue.
Thanks.

Did you set up the axle end play per the Rzeppa specs for the knuckles?

That's what happens when you take breaks on a resto! I now know what I need to do, but, I don't see that any of the parts guys have the shims I need. Any ideas where I can find them?

There are two sizes in the shim kits. Four each A-862 (0.010") and two each A-863 (0.030"). Here's two places that sell them:

I don't recall ever finding more than two shims on one end of one axle.
