I was reading some place that a person was putting his 6 v battery tender on his vehicle. And I wondered if there is such a thing.. and Am I doing it wrong.
during this time of rebuilding m38, I have newer batteries sitting on the work bench, and I hook them up to my battery tender to keep them up until I can put them back in again. Now this is after I came in from working on it that I thought of it.
is there a difference in tenders. If I'm using a good old wally world tender will it damage my batteries?

There are plain trickle chargers that charge at 1 or 2 amps continuously. These are not good to use for long periods.
There are quality float chargers that bring the battery to a full charge and then automatically quit. Then at a pre-determined level below full charge they will automatically turn on again and repeat the cycle over and over. This is the charger you should be using.

I have been looking at this charger. Seems like it would do a good job.

I highly suggest the Bosch C7 charger. The 24v charging is great!
