Water pump rebuild

Post by aforests »

Need some advice on this water pump I am attempting to rebuild. Take a look at the pic below as someone at some point spot welded the pulley on to the part that is still stuck to the shaft. Also the pin seems to be stuck, any advice on how to proceed at this point?

The pulley should not have separated from the collar. Both parts
should have come off the shaft as a single part. Ouch!
keep 'em rollin'

yes, I agree, but it looks like this happened before and they welded it back together which in my opinion, shouldn't hurt anything. Does the bearing push out the front of the pump or the back?

The bearing should have came out the front with the shaft and pulley. Are you in TM 9-1804A page 58 Para. 44?

No, but will now. I have all the manuals, but hadn't looked in that one yet. Is this pulley salvageable?

I wouldn't waste my time with it. Nor would I risk damage to my radiator because I tried to salvage it.
