Fording intake hose mount

Post by 4x4M38 »

I have a hole cut out of the outside corner
near the top passenger side of my windshield.

I know there is a clamp that ties the hose and support
rod and it is mounted lower on the windshield.

What is the assembly tied to at the top?
Should there be a bracket of some sort
welded to the frame or maybe a hole?

Directions to a photo would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

The support rod only attaches at the lower body in front of the door opening in two places. There is no support at the top, only a rubber donut to stop it from hitting the windshield support

see my last photo in my gallery on page 3(keating)

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes I have looked at the fording kit and
parts. So what you are saying is beyond the clamp on the hose and
tube, all the way to the top of the hose with Precleaner on top
there is nothing that ties it to the windshield?

So a clarification and an AHA moment from RickG who was kind
and patient enough to explain that the fording intake tube was
in fact not connected to the windshield in any way and if it was
the windshield would not be able to fold down.

Back to the shop where filling of titanium woodpecker bill
holes continues and a patch will be done at the top side
where a chunk is missing.

Thanks to everyone who replied.
