Ramsey 200 L Winch Installation on M-38
Hi I'm new to posting and this may not be so new a question. Here goes : I have a Ramsey 200 L Winch (Ser # 44461) and a PTO Model PT1-S and I am trying to mount it on front bumper of my M-38 Willys. I do have a bracket that fits the Winch but it needs to be modified slightly - does anyone have dimensions for a winch brackets that will fit ?

A quick google search using the terms: "ramsey 200 on m38" will get you a wealth of info on the how to.

Using the civvy PTO may give you a bit of grief with your stock M38 exhaust header pipe. The CJ2A & 3A used a different header pipe.
It will be easier to find bracket dimensions for the civvy winch on the CJ3A/CJ3B pages and the CJ2A pages.

Lou,
Making the 200 fit the M38 front frame is simple. I would look a while longer for the correct 100 M38 PTO. Once you find the correct M38 PTO the drive shaft is not much of a challenge and you can ignore the problems associated with using the civvy PTO. The M38 PTO is not quite as expensive as the M38 50/50R winch.
