Hood number. - thoughts?

Post by MattyT »

I am almost to a point of submitting my 4 survey sheets to Wes. I thought I had it under control on this last requirement, the search for hood numbers. I'm a little disappointed in myself as you can see in the pic I clearly didn't change direction with the alignment of my fingers and sand paper. I started with 800 grit wet sanding and when I saw my error moved to a 1000 grit. Here it is. Any interpretation, input, suggestions as to what you see?
The other side Of the hood I butchered years ago.....have a better understanding as i think have have read every post since then.

Matty I moved your post to the correct board.

Your hood reads:
U.S.ARMY
20910921

This would be a correct hood number for a late May or early June 1951 M38.
