Stupid question time
1 - if it is in backwards have i ruined it? & will i need a new one
2 - Whats the correct torque settings for the disc?
3 - How do i replace the throwout bearing ie how to i get the old one off & the new one on?
1- You will have to pull it out and inspect it to make a determination if it is serviceable or not. The procedure to do this takes up several pages in your service manual. To explain here would also take several pages of typing.

2-What exactly are you going to torque on the clutch disc? It has no bolts or nuts. It floats between the pressure plate and the flywheel while sliding on the transmission input shaft.

3-Again your manual has several pages on this topic and to explain it here would result in several more pages of typing.

If you do not have any of the three service manuals and the parts manual for your jeep they are free to download on our downloads page:

Have taken engine out and disc was in the correct way

Torque settings was for the pressure plate

The noise seemed to be coming from the disc itself

Sounds like it's vibrating / rattling

Any ideas

Ok solved it

Looks like I had over torqued massively !

Took it all apart and replaced it but used correct torque setting and thread lock

Solved the noise and clutch now works great
