Fuel Tank Filler Tube Screen

I'm swapping my fuel tank out for one that I am refurbishing, but the screen on the filler tube is ripped to pieces. Has any one soldered on a new brass screen?

I've done it on other applications. not very difficult and definately cheaper than replacing the entire slide tube.
