Any one know or point me to the bolt size/thread
for the bow brackets to body M38A1?
I have the original weld nuts and appear to be 5/16
and 1/4" but I'm thinking fine thread?
Been searching not much luck.
Thanks
Tom

The front & rear bow storage bracket screws are listed on page 337 of the M38A1 ORD 9. 8 each 1/4-20NC-2x5/8".
The socket for the bow is listed on page 366 of the m38A1 ORD 9 6 each 5/16-18NC-2 x 3/4" which were then superseded by 6 each 5/16-18NC-2 x 5/8" bolts.

Thanks.
I have downloaded the manuals and have some paper copies here.
Evidently I was in the wrong book, was in Ord 9 G740.
Also figured out they were course thread after I got a better set of
Cheaters.
Also would like to thank you for your photo album.
It's been a great help trying to figure things out

Glad to help. Looking again I notice the M38A1 listing for the rear stowage bracket does not show the bolt info. They may be the same as the m38 3/8-16NC-2 x 3/4".
For those looking for the answer for the M38:
The front storage bracket screws are listed on page 304 of the M38 ORD 9. 8 each 1/4-20NC-2x5/8". & rear bow storage bracket screws are listed on page 305 of the M38 ORD 9. 8 each 3/8-16NC-2x3/4" superceded by 3/8-16UNC-2Ax3/4" .
The socket for the bow is listed on page 329 of the M38 ORD 9 6 each 5/16-18NC-2 x 3/4" which were then superseded by 6 each 5/16-18NC-2 x 5/8" bolts.
