Took some temp readings. Its a bit cooler driving all things considered but very bearable inside. I could seal the windshield vent cover, it does produce a considerable draft.
OK, after a few runs with the heater, I have noticed that the engine temp tends to fluctuate while driving around in stop and go traffic.
I didn't and should also look how it behaves with the water flow to the heater off. I never really drove it much last winter in these cold temps sans heater.
Would I benefit in getting a hotter stat or block air flow the radiator? A canvas radiator cover would be a fun project.
If you haven't already done so the NAPA 54mm 180 deg t-stat is pt #169.
A little while back a fellow on the 3A page made a canvas rad cover
attached by 3lb magnets. Nice work. I know you saw it.. Right up your alley. If you go that route build 2 and i'll make sure you're well covered.

I cant remember what temp t-stat I put in to tell you the truth.
Yep saw that cover. I still have a bit of good canvas I bought from Jeff (jpet). For some reason, those strong magnets are a pain to come by at a decent price.
