Paint system ?

Post by ruger45 »

Ok so the body guy wants to use a base coat top coat system. Says our local paint shop does not have the right color in a single stage system. (I have never done the two stage) I know I can get single stage online and may end up painting some of the stuff myself.
What have you guys used and why?
Thanks for the input.

You can buy any of the military OD colors online or on the
phone and have them shipped to you.

If we are talking OD...

I bought and had shipped to me the single stage stuff. Liked it because I could do it myself. I have little experience with painting cars. With a little coaching from the real painters at work, I was able to paint my jeep and few other things at home. I liked the outcome. Just my 2 cents.

If you are having the tub and other big stuff done buy the
gallon(s) of the OD semi gloss and hand it to them. Buy
some rattle cans in the same paint and do the rest yourself.

Just my two cents.
