Thanks. It is actually all there. Will need new tires and the rear bearings are shot. Havent been able to locate replacements but hopefully have a place to fabricate bearings for me. Got to start my daughter off early with a jeep!!
Try speedway motors-pedal cars. They have lots of stuff listed for your jeep. I too have a Hamilton - jeep, mine is not quite as complete as yours. I'm going to restore mine if I ever get my M-38 done.
I cant wait until its done and I am watching my daughter pedaling away! She just turned 1 so I have a little time. I am actually debating whether to go back to the air force colors or make it a minature of my A1 and see if I can get the Hood #s and other stencials in a minuature size.
I have actaully seen speedway motors website. Great site! They have everything I need if I cant fix it myself except the rear ball bearings attached to the Pedal straps Part # 7. I dont see a part # for the ball bearings themselve and it looks as though they dont have the Rear axle assembly either Part #3 if that comes with the bearings. I havent spent much time yet researching or asking around but I am sure I will come up with something.
Atleast this jeep's version of an ORD 9 is only one page!
I am sure if you remove that bearing and take it to the counter of a bearing supply house they can find one to fit. We have a chain here in the midwest called Bearing Headquarters and is where I get most of my bearings for the jeeps, my cars and the airplanes I work on.
I'm sure you already know this but if you can find a number on it or measure it you have a good chance of finding the bearings for it. There is a place here in mid mo called Missouri power transmission that I have very good luck with.
So its been a long time but I finished up the pedal car! It took a while but I was able to find someone to reproduce the hanging brackets with the bearings. I got the canvas from Beachwood and they just charged shipping. Great company! I used the hood number from my M38A1 and as I was finishing it up I wanted to add the rope, windshield bumpers and the wire cutter.
