Back seat brackets

Post by Brinken »

Hi everyone
The rear back seat brackets are missing on my M38A1. The front ones are in place.
Do anyone have a drawing or a sketch with dimensions so I can make two new ones?

Below I have borrowed Tom Petroff's photo of the bracket. Maybe you Tom have a sketch?

Seat brackets

Midwest Military has all the rear seat attaching parts in stock.
U cups are $12 ea. and the L retainers are $4 ea.

Thanks John, I'll keep this in mind. There is a Little hatch for me here in Sweden, I have to pay customs tax on both the articles and the freight charge, AND on top of that 25% VAT for all of it. This makes importing from the US quite expensive for me.
My best solution would be to have a drawing or sketch and make them here in Sweden.
Thanks anyway for your suggestion

Jan-Olof,
If I remember correctly these parts are the same for the M38.

Maybe you have so done nearby that has on you can measure
or trace for a pattern?

Take care,

Thanks Xamon, I eagerly wait for your new reply.

Brain, good to know that it is the same brackets on the M38, but if I am correct I have the closest M38 about 200 - 250 km away, there are quite sparse with jeeps in Sweden, especially in the southern part where I live. Most of them gathers around the area of Stockholm, the Swedish capital city.

Thanks soo much Robert, this helps alot. Now I can make new ones from your sketch/drawing/photo.

I took a look in your album as well. You have had a lot more struggle than me. Good luck.

I can also get grumpy on Windows 10 sometimes.

The overall layout is dimensioned in my album under the m38 body sub-album. They are the same on the m38A1.

The M38A1 uses a different seat back retaining hook than the m38.
