Nut for T90 output shaft

Post by BCA »

My T90 main output shaft does not have a hole for a cotter pin. Someone has used the usual castelleated nut to retain the 26T t/case input gear but there is no way to install a cotter pin. Was there a version of the mainshaft that used Huglock or self-locking nut? ..Brian

Thanks for the confirmation. Too bad they didn't put a cotter pin hole to allow for a second option of the old style nut. Brian

Could always drill a hole yourself, if you have the shaft out if course.

The mid 50's & up civvy T90 mainshaft nut was a nyloc. The M38 original was only castle nut.

Using a drill press at the right speed and a good quality bit just one will do the job.
