Mechanical oil pres gauge

I'm assuming since air is more compressible than oil that it is necessary
to bleed the hard oil line from the block to the gauge.

1. How do you do this?

2. Is it possible to get all of the air out?

I don't think I ever had to bleed any oil gage.

After you shut it down what little air is left works back to the engine.

Start it and see.
If you must bleed, crack the line at the gage, but I don't think you
Will need too.

I have a reading while it is running, but had to take the line apart
to install the oil lines correctly. It's pretty empty right now.

Yes, I usually bleed the line from the engine to the gage. Two ways to do it.

1 - Disconnect the line at the gage. Put a can under the line end. Crank the engine without the ignition on.

2 - Disconnect the line at the gage. Crack the line loose at the block. Get a hand pump oil can with the same oil you have in the engine and pump it into the gage end of the line and when it comes at a steady stream at the block fitting tighten the block fitting up and re-connect the line to the gage.

No, you can never get all the air out of the gage.
