Timing cover seal meeting oil pan seal

Post by southpw »

Just putting everything back together and wondered about a potential oil leak between timing cover and oil pan? Should I add some gasket maker in the corner where these 2 felt gaskets meet?

I would not use any RTV based gasket maker. I would use a bead of Permatex #1 at the juncture of the two gaskets before the covers go on.
