Hi guys
I have purchased a brand new canvas top from John & Mary Worthing in England, but I have forgotten the rods creating the door apperture. I can make these rods myself thanks to to the advisory picture in Wes photo album, but I can not find any info regarding the rod bracket shown in the red ring in the photo below.
Can anyone of you guys help me with measures and dimensions for this windshield bracket?
Thanks

Careful, if you order from John at Midwest remind him his web site is in error. It shows the right hand 680822 in both photos and both listings have the same part number 680822.
Wes
Thanks for the good info and your pictures, it helps a bit. Your sketch also clear my mind regarding "my holes" in the windshield which are oriented in an angle, not horisontal or vertical, se "my window" below.
I think I will try to make them myself, if anyone can help me with the major outer measures. My experience nowadays is that it will become very expensive to buy things from USA, as they put VAT and customs fee on everything coming in to Sweden.
Note there are no nuts with the four screws. The Brackets have threaded weld plates on them. I see no reason why you cannot just use standard nuts on the inside. I checked my old 1960 CJ5 and they look identical and when I checked the CJ5 IPL I noticed their part numbers were different. I do not see why they would not work on an M38A1 though.
The CJ5 PN's are 688925 left and 688926 right. You may be able to find these in Europe or Scandinavia.
Thanks Wes, you are incredible. I will look around here in Sweden and in countries within the EU, this will make life easier.
Do you think it will be possible for you to go out to your old CJ5 again and take the measures U, R and W mentioned on your sketch? These measures are crusial If I have to make these brackets myself.
Thanks again
Yes David I would like to have your pair of brackets. But can you give me a couple of days to be sure my Swedish supplier can't make it.
Thanks
I will let you know as soon as possible.
I have thought about the same and the only answer I can find is to put the loose part of the chain there when the rod is in place and the pin on the end of the chain is securing the rod.
Do anyone else have a more rationell answer?
As I mentioned earlier I have a 60 & 61 CJ5. I have M38A1 windshield bow rod support brackets on my 60 CJ5 windshield and I have a 61 CJ5 windshield with stock CJ5 brackets on it. Here's a comparison photo:
