64 mc dash gauges possitions ?

Post by Saberr »

Was wondering if anyone knew the correct gauge positions for a 64 mc m38a1 ? Would post pic of mine, but phone doesn't want to connect. On mine top left is fuel and top right is temp, bottom left is oil, and bottom right is voltage. I know this is not standard, but even the FUEL lettering is under the fuel gauge on top left. This is not new, but original gauge cluster. Was wondering if 64 is different, or if someone just got lazy while in service ?

64 is not different. There are only two gauge arrangements. They differ in amp meter vs volt meter and early vs late dash illumination.

Hmm, that's what i thought. Was questioning though, because fuel lettering was under fuel gauge. Thats enough fix though, thx or confirming it wasn't another 64 mc oddball.

Relax Brian. 1964 is the giveaway that the mc is a typo! Had it been an MC (M38) his choices would have been the same on the physical arrangement of the gauges.
