Jeep had Serious Problem...

Post by OKCM38CDN »

A friend on Facebook posted this article on the G-503 Jeep and I would like some opinions, this is the same steering system used on all jeeps from the G-503 to the M-38A1 to my knowledge... including the civilian models...

Mine is poor alignment in the brake system, but I am not an expert... your thoughts...

Here is the link to the article:

It only criticizes the WWII jeep and 1945 CJ2A for the axle mounted steering bellcrank forcing the jeep to steer left on hard braking resulting in forward axle wrap up.

The 1946 & on Willys CJ's and M38's and M38A1's all had the steering bellcrank on the crossmember reducing the axle wrap issue effectively.

Thank you Wes, you pointed out something that I did not know... but then again I do not have a WWII Jeep so would not have caught that...
