Cowl battery box removal M38

How does one remove an original cowl battery box on an M38? The bottom panel appears to be attached with a few phillips head screws but I do not see where and how to separate the main structure from the M38 body.

You must drill out all the spot welds around the top flange!

Are the spot welds above the cowl or below ? Maybe there is too much primer to see the spot welds.
