Hi. How is the aux. jet removed on a YS950s carb I see the bleeder tube over it unscrews with a 1/4" wrench does the jet just pull out? I just installed a new carb kit from MWM but I did not change the included jet or bleeder tube they seemed clear with spray carb cleaner and compressed air guess not, now the carb is pumping gas into the air intake from the vent fitting. I set the float height with a 9/64" drill bit. The jeep has set most of the winter due to health issues, is it possible the fuel pump is over pressurising the float bowl? I got a fuel pump kit from John as well but have not installed it yet. Nice day feeling better just wanted to go for a drive lucky it quit !/2 mile uphill from home it don't push any easier with the new carb kit . I'd be gratefull for any help you can give a dumb millwright thanks.
Thanks Wes I just finished reading this info again. I understand float height for the A1 carb should be set at 9/64. Am I missing something? The tube I'd like to replace is refered to as the low speed jet tube, good picture on page 21 of the download but no info about replacing this tube. Tomorrow I'll try my spare fuel pump after installing the new kit. If that doesn't work I'll try blowing more carb cleaner through the jet. Unfortunately most of the experienced carb men in my area have retired.
Hi Wes how is the pump plumbing comming? I didn't get a chance to do much today due to kidney flairup . my number drills only go down to 60 so I'll round up some smaller ones this week and check the low speed and aux ports in the low speed jet tube. A new jet tube came with the kit but a moderate amount of force has failed to pull the old one out I hate to force anything outside my experience. Have you or someone else on this forum pulled this jet tube? How about installing the new one without bending it? Any suggestions? Take care of yourself and get well. PS tell the fitters working on you to use mastermetalic on all internal joints it rarely ever leaks and is much better than teflon for a perminant repair
