Water proof plug wire thread pitch

Post by bamaj »

I have the water proof distributer cap cover and a couple of the male studs that the plug wires screw down on are buggered up. Can anyone tell me the thread pith for those studs? Thanks Jeff

You did not tell us which model jeep you are working on. This is only good to know so we know which ORD 9 we would use. Both ORD 9's, SNL G-740 (M38) & SNL G-758 (M38A1/M170) show the nuts at both ends of the spark plug lead are ORD# 7528187.

5/8-24NF

If you wonder where I found that????

In the M38 ORD 9 SNL G-740 where it shows the 7528187 nut is a hex type, corrosion resistant steel, 5/8-24NEF-3

The M38A1 ORD 9 SNL G-758 shows the 7528187 nut twice. Once with no long description and once with the long description but it erroneously calls the thread pitch as 11/16-24NEF-3

The spec sheet for the leads makes that quite clear:

Wow that's great I'm new to all of this kind of. I have had my Jeep a while but have only now started to really work on it. It's a M38A1 not sure of the year, all of the data plates have been removed. It doesn't have the fold down grill. Where can I get a copy of that manual? Thanks again

Jeff,
Go to our downloads page and select the manuals you need in PDF format and download them for free. http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules. ... =Downloads

I show in our records we sent you an M38A1 survey for and Manual list back in Sep 2013. I do not see an completed survey in our file for you though Jeff.

I'll send you new ones.
