Installing windshield.

Post by Ryan »

I am getting ready to install my windshield after painting my jeep this weekend :D

What I cant remember (after three years) is where your windshield hardware bolts to the tub, the flat stock that goes under the mounting bracket, do the ridges go towards the tub, or towards the bracket?

If I had to guess, it would be towards the brackets.

Its nice to finally see everything nice and green for a change!

Got pics and they will be on in a few days.

I got the brackets installed but I have run into an adjustment problem. THe first gasket I got for the cowl was a cheapie and fit poorly. I just recieved my gasket in from John at Midwest and it fits alot better. Im still haveing problems getting the windshield adjusted. The gasket still wants to hang on the battery box a little bit but will tuck down if you pick the lid up. I have adjusted the windshield latch hooks all the way up but I still cant get them to latch correctly. Anybody got any tips for me?

On your windshield there are adjustments at teh pivot bolts. Use them a little bit... that will help latch the clamps...

I had mine too far down and the windshield needed to go back some...

If you have the holes on the passenger side for the fording kit (2 bolt holes to mount the snorkel tube) then make a staight edge and come up by the windshield and align the windshield paralell with this straight edge...

This will get you really close to the proper location...
