fresh air intake louver (Hot Water Personnel Heater Kit)

Post by dayboy42 »

Does anyone have a fresh air intake louver on their M38 jeep or in their parts collection? It would of come with the Hot Water personnel heater kit. Mounted passenger side outside near the axe sheath.

I have pictures from TB 9-2855-37 but would like the measurements to make one if possible. Otherwise I'll have to guestimate but thought I might try this first.

Would purchase original if someone was wiling to sell theirs.

Best Regards,
Matt

That one in the picture is the early louver type one; the TB shows; the late ones look like pieces of expanded steel with a frame; not louvers.
I just put a Hunter heater in my M38; not wanting to cut any holes in my jeep, or suck air through the tool box, I put it on the floor between the seats. If you put it in the passenger floor then no one with shoes over size 6 will fit. It blows air directly onto the passenger but that is not my problem. Ran the hoses down through the PTO hole. I know, not per the TB.

Its not that bad actually and if you have a RickG designed diverter it works pretty slick.
