I'm seeing an engine rebuild in my future, so I was searching to find some nice recommendations for a reputable shop that can do the L134 motor right the first time. Too many of these threads stay open-ended forever!

I have a good friend that rebuilds L134 motors for a hobby. He's done 3 of his own, mine and about 18 others. One was for a guy in England. No warranty claims made. He typically has 1 or 2 to sell at Findlay or the MVPA convention and formerly at Iola. If you want his name and number, post your request here. Craters and Freighters will ship anywhere in the US and build a shipping crate to suit. Will also pick up at your door. My friend and I live in SE Michigan.

Too many "experts" have screwed up these motors. Talk to your potential rebuilder at length before you commit. Good luck.

Hi Boze,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, please post the contact info for your friend so I can start whittling down to a short list.

I am sure if you spend some "Let your fingers do the walking in your local yellow pages" time right in your own backyard in South Carolina you'll find several choices.

Keep in mind warranty is usually associated with a shop not a private individual in his garage.

Sorry for the delay. I've been away and wasn't notified of the request.

My friend's name is Chuck Chapman and his email is cfcgc@aol.com He is knowledgable, honest and loves the hobby and Jeeps like no one else I have ever known.

Tell him Gummy sent you.
