radio antenna storage tube?

I ordered a nos radio antenna base and 2 piece antenna. The antenna came in a tube and I was told it mounts to the windshield frame. Anybody ever see this? Any pics around?

The tube can be attached with strap to the outside windshield. The strap is attached to winshield by the windshield lock bolt. I will send you a picture in a personal message.
