M38 Wiper Motor - Exhaust Valve Switching Mechanism

Post by SCJeep »

Does anybody have a picture of a correctly assembled exhaust switching mechanism on the Trico wiper motors? I have studied the exploded diagram but would like to see a photo of it correctly assembled. When I took mine apart there was a part broken and all of the small parts were just flopping around inside. I have since repaired the small parts but am having some difficulty in re-assembly without a photo or better diagram.

It would help a lot if you told us which Trico wiper motor Part # you have and a photo of the area in question would be a tremendous help.

Sorry. It should be an original take-off. Looks just like WO-674645.

Here is an exploded diagram of the exhaust switching mechanism in question.

This is the actuall blowup from the ORD 9 for the WO# 674645 motor.

Success in putting the switching assembly back together. The motor worked great...for a while. The kicker (K) broke and now the switching doesn't work.

Anyone have any sources for these Trico small parts? I restored the motor and it works great, all I need is this small part. I tried to epoxy the kicker back together but it is too small of a surface area to get enough bonding. It worked for a bit and then broke again. The part I need is listed in the diagram as Kicker (K)
