M38 Frame for sale----SOLD

Post by rgmutchler »

Doug who lives in Bastrop, TX has an M38 Frame, two rear springs with shackles and the rear axle. No front suspension. Also has master cylinder and the clutch / brake pedal assembly.

He is interested in selling it. He owns property that used to be part of Camp Swift and found the frame and parts on his property. From what I could see the frame is in decent shape. He is asking $250.

He can be contacted at

dougk@keltecsystems.com
He can provide more and better pictures if you are interested.

Hi Ralph!
Any chance he’d clean off and document those bumper markings??

Take care,

Brian,
I have pictures of them and posted the best most complete. The TX Nat. Guard, during the 1950's, which would be the latter part of the time frame that this land belonged to Camp Swift, was the 49 Armor Div. It had changed from the 36 Inf. Div in 1949. From what I can gather, when it changed to the 49th one of its Brigades was the 36th. One Reg in that brigade was 143rd. Those appear to be the markings on the bumper. In the early 2000's the 49th Armor Div went away and the TX. Nat. Guard again became the 36th Inf. Div. I don't remember right now the numbers of the brigades but think they are the 72 and 56th IBCT's. A regiment in one of those brigades is still the 143rd.
I am sure there is info on the net about these changes and composition of the Divisions. Even better, next time you go toward Austin, visit the Museum at Camp Mabry. It is a good museum and has a lot of historical info about TX military history.

Thanks Ralph!

I need to do that, and go to Nimitz, but have been warned I will spend four hours there!’
