Fan & Generator Dive pulley nut?

Post by DFoley »

The nut that holds on the Fan & Generator Drive Pulley has spun off my Jeep, so obviously I need a replacement. I have searched multiple manuals/publications but can find no reference to this nuts size. Can somebody help? A pick of the nut in question is in the attacked figure.

In the Ord 9 on page 27 under crankshaft 0102.1
it lists
PULLEY, drive, fan and generator (double “V”)..~ .._.....
KEY, WOODRUFF, alloy-S, 3/(6x % (No. 606 or 9) .._
NUT, hex, S, 1 1/16

I think this is what you are looking for.

That’s it!
Don’t know how I missed it. I scanned the ORD 9 for hours looking for it.

These are readily available from a number of suppliers. I may be wrong on this but I believe they are the same as the Civvie nut. (well, at least it is on my M38, ha!).
It is NOT a standard nut, as it has a special collar on it that faces the pulley, so don't just use any nut.

Can somebody confirm that?
