Footman loops size... hole to hole?

Post by Daveyboy »

Asking because I see WW2 MB/GPW footman loops offered and
I don’t see M series specific type offered.
Are they the same?

Same hole to hole pitch?

I believe the major suppliers are offering loops with a
2-1/8” center to center hole spacing

Except for a couple of special purpose loops the footman loops found all over both jeeps is the standard hardware item Loop, Footman 1" strap size. It's a common hardware item that the Army has stocked since they had wagons.

Over the years on these web pages the discussion has generally agreed that there are very subtle differences in appearance/shape of WWII period vs current period footman loops.
