Hi
I will be following your thread with interest as I have a rough EX USAF M38 I hope to restore this winter.
Been collecting original parts while I make time for the restoration.
Good Luck, they seem to be fairly rare in the UK.
Regards
Dave

I look forward to your restoration! Where in the uk are you? We may be able to assist each other with parts and info?

Hi Adam.
Pleased to assist if I can, I have a pretty much complete jeep now, mostly original to one vehicle.

I am in Suffolk, I have restored a load of WW2 vehicles in the past and thought the M38 would make a welcome change.

Where did you get yours from? any history?

Thanks Dave - I have pm’d you also.

Jeep has been in the U.K. in previous owners garage for ten to fifteen years, not much work done to it, nibbled at by the owner and his father. When his father passed away this summer he decided to sell it.

I’ve take over where he left off and it’s getting a full restoration.

We know it was in Belgian hands over 15 years ago and that’s it.

Progress made! Jeep now stripped and lots of parts ordered.

Engine off for machining and new pistons/rings/bearings etc ordered.

Seen here ready for primer...

Found some M's - battery tray and reinforcing plates and radiator mounts.

Wartime driveshaft found in front axle...

Yes, just waiting for some good weather to sand blast the rims, get them painted and get some tyres on them so we can move the chassis :)
