Fuel/vacuum pump

Post by horse »

Hi.

I recently bought a rebuilt pump for my 1952 M38.

I asked if it had the modification to minimize premature failure by drilling an 1/8 inch hole in the deck of the body.

The answer," He had rebuilt and sold many without problems."

Does this mod need doing or not?

Thanks

Jonathan

Yes. Very brain dead replay your supplier gave you. Anyone that has rebuilt a few of these pumps knows the bulletin needs to be complied with and should be able to tell by looking at the pump lying on his bench weather it was done or not while he had it apart.
