M38 casting date?

M38 casting date?
I saw a post on an FB forum that showed a ‘casting date’ on an M38 head. It is above the casting number. In the green book example it is 4/27C. Is there a way to decode that date to day/month/year? Mine is 8/20C.

The day/month is obvious but year can only be derived by estimating the production period for that casting and the vehicle 's DOM it was found on.
