Website Probems
To all,
We are reviving hundreds of spam applications a day again, I have checked and the captcha is still working so the spammers have found a way around it.
Our website program is 15 years old and needs to be upgraded to be a viable tool to keep up with the technology those that intend to interfere are using.
That is going to cost $2,000-5,000. Combine that with the dramatically increasing fees just to keep the website on the internet - at close to $600 a year now, I am considering closing the website down.
Other forums like the CJ3B have fallen to similar assaults over the last few years. All forums I have been on - Model A, mustangs, etc. are seeing dramatic decrease in traffic due to Facebook and twitter groups now being a big thing.
I am opening this up to anyone that wants to run the forum and take over, but Wes and I just don't have the time and money to keep it going.
Thanks to technology ever changing and spammers I really hate to do this.
Ryan

Very sad to have it come to this. I understand the frustrations as I ran a couple of very small websites years ago. I do not like F/B but that is where tons of people seem to be headed.
I wish the best for you and this awesome site. There just isn't much I can/could do to help.

Guys, I appreciate the offers, but we need to probably spend several thousand to get the website updated to not get all the spam membership applications.
The website program we are using is from 2005 and I have not had much luck finding anyone to work on it - they all want to update the system and that is probably going to run as much as $3,000 last time I checked a couple years ago.
The old days were there were lots of people out there dabbling in website forums seems to be fading away with Facebook, Twitter, etc. taking over.
Just having a website went from $100 per year 15 years ago to now $600 per year.

I am still in contact with John Bizal at Midwest Military about partnering to help get things done/maybe some funding.
Let's see if he is interested in helping take some on and then we can figure out about donations, etc.
I have been using the book money, but over the years the sales have declined and the funds are drying up.
