Wes K. and Ryan M. Appreciation Day

Post by jake138 »

Today marks the 16 year anniversary of the day that Wes K. created his account here on Willysmjeeps.com. Ryan created his account a day earlier on April 3rd, but I think it's appropriate to celebrate both of them on the same day!

When I first bought my M38, I honestly knew very little about it. I knew they had some improvements from the MB and CJ3a, but other than that I was clueless. It wasn't until I stumbled across this forum that I really started to appreciate what I had. I was able to download the service manuals and really started to learn more about my M38.

The forums here have been instrumental in finding out how to identify components on my Jeep, how to fix everything that's been bubba'd and broken, and overall just how to keep my Jeep rollin. If it weren't for Wes and Ryan, these forums wouldn't exist, and I wouldn't know nearly as much about M38's. So I wanted to take a minute today to tell them both how much I appreciate all the time and effort they have committed to this forum after all these years. They both have dedicated a lot of their own personal lives into keeping this forum alive, and I know I am not the only person who has benefited from their efforts.

I second the creation of this holiday.
Everyone raise your adult beverage of choice in salute of these two heroes. Without them there would not be so many wonderful OD wonders roaming the world.

X2! Couldn't have said it better myself.

Thank you Ryan and Wes!

And count me still ready to pony up some $ to help run the forum website.

Well, Thank You, It has been an honor to assist all of you in this hobby.

A little more info: I started with a Yahoo M38 Group in 1996. Ryan and I met at a jeep gathering in Iowa in 98 and we discussed opening a PHP type forum. It took a while but by 2000 we had this up & running. Now we are at 5800 members. It would be nice if the portable tablets/I phones and the newer bulk lazy boy media hadn't come along. What I do find amusing is that the bulk of the lazy viewer questions on Facebook are answered primarily by long term mjeeps forum members! It is very unfortunate for this web site that these new lazy folks media has brought this web site to this low point in it's life.

What they all said!

This site and Wes and Ryan are the oracles of all things M-Series jeeps - and much else. The successful restoration of my M38 wouldn't have happened without all their knowledge, support, and this site.

Thanks!

Thanks Wes and Ryan!

I appreciate all you've done to make this web site available to anyone with interest in these old Jeep's. Pooling all of the collective knowledge is never a bad thing.

Always learning!

As a newer member and new M38A1 owner, I really appreciate all that Wes and this site have done to help me on my journey.
Thanks for your patience with me and for sharing your immense knowledge of Willys Military Jeeps.
I could not do this without you.
Cheers to you!

Well deserved. I cannot think of the number of times I have looked up something for my project only find that Wes or Ryan had answered it to the point. I am one who has been doing body and frame work first but as I move into the mechanical, I see another level of understanding with part references and crossover to manufacturer part numbers.
