The 6 volt IBC-4015-UT distributor is virtually identicle to the most commonly used 24 volt IAU-4006-UT M38 distributor. The only significant differences are the data plates and the coil. It is not uncommon to see your situation where an original CJV35 or generator set waterproof 6 volt distributor is presed into service as a 24 volt unit by swapping the coil.
You can ID coils by part number or by measuring primary resistance. It is 1.20 - 1.35 for the 6 volt coil and 6.2 - 6.5 for the 24 volt coil.
