I want to replace the battery in the cowl on my M38. Consumer reports has always liked the EverstartMaxx batteries which Walmart carries. Though not wedded to that brand, I am hoping I can find one. Obviously, the first consideration is physical size. So I will take a tape measure. What is the next thing I should be looking for? CC Amps?
Looking ahead, should both batteries be as close to identical in size and type as possible?
Thanks,
AJ

1 - Sizes are in the charts in my photo album.
2 - Battery specifications are in the charts in my photo albums.
3 - The manuals caution you to try to keep the batteries as closely matched in age, condition and specifications as possible. They suggest that you always replace both batteries at the same time using the exact same batteries from the same production lot.
If you don't follow these cautions your two dissimilar batteries will have what is referred to as bouncing or chasing voltage drop degradation.
Here's an example of what is available in my technical photo albums that are free for you to use:

I have replaced both batteries in M-38 and M-38A1 with 51R batteries from Sam's Club. They are very close to the proper size and other requirements. The posts line up properly for the electric cables to be used as installed. Cost for my last set was $105 per battery.
I have gotten 3 years out of the last set I bought, before they died due to sitting over the winter (Unable to trickle charge as garage had no power).
Hope this helps...
