24 Volt Coil

Post by ocwd »

Seams like this should be a new post.

I need to replace my coil. I found NOS Mutt coils on G503. Should be the same coil used on Mutt and M38, correct?

Thank you,

Dave

Yes, it is the same, also 24 volt. The distributor is nearly the same, i also use the ignition module in my M38.

I didn't make it in time to buy a MUTT coil. Anyone buy the aftermarket coils from Pete DeBella?

Thanks,

Dave

I bought one of the coils that Debella has been selling that are supposed to be better than the old chrome coils. I installed it last year and it has worked fine but only time will tell.

Thanks for the feedback. I will check on NOS coils then decide on the repro from Debella.

You realize that those NOS coils are 30-40 years old and do degrade over time. You might get lucky and get a good one and it may last 1- 5 yrs or a week. The good thing about Debella is he will stand by the products he sells. Also NOS coil prices are stupid, just like the spark plugs.
