Don,
I have been fortunate to buy many items off eBay as bargains, for the same reason. Either the person selling wasn’t familiar with the item, or didn’t offer enough information in the description to snag all the searchers.
If I’m looking for something specifically I’ll misspell the name, screw up the description, play with part numbers, etc in the search function. Sadly it works here as well.
I also look at A1 parts for my M38. Many are interchangeable, and sometimes sellers identify a part as an A1 piece yet it’s an M38.
Especially with rare items like the carbs and fuel pumps, opening up your search description and making it as vague as possible can get you lots more hits, but can lead to that surprise.
Take care,
Brian
