Difference between tops

Post by RickC »

I picked up an old Jeep top last night. No markings visible on it. TRied it on my M38. Length is ok, maybe a tad too long but it's wider than the windshield frame and hangs pretty low at the door openings. Would this be a top for a M38a1???
Thanks

Hello Rick,
There's not a lot of info to make any evaluation on. Canvas or metal top?
With the wider windshield issue it may be an M38A1/CJ5 or it may be an MB due to it being too short for the height of your windshield. Pictures are the ticket in these situations.

It's a canvas top. Appears to me to be an A1 top due to slight crown in area around center of windshield. If a club member isn't interested is anyone else???? Has a couple holes around the rear bow.
