Stuck motor

Post by DMCarpenter »

When I bought it over Memorial Day, the motor was stuck. I shot PB Blaster in all four and left it for a week. Then I filled all four with Marvel Mystery Oil. This weekend, I pulled the grill and the radiator. I was able to get a socket and pull handle on the crank nut, but no motion. Granted, I didn't try to force the pull handle. I pulled the carb for rebuild. I removed the valve cover and things looked OK. I would love to free the motor up without pulling it, but I am afraid that is next. Ideas?

Thanks

Pull the side valve cover cover and check for a stuck valve in the guide. With a little patience these can aslo be freed up.

I've had some valves stuck so tight I've had to pull the head and spray & soak the stems for a day and slowly work them closed while tapping on the with a brass hammer as I try to rotate the crank
