Search for TM9-1826A It is the carb manual. For some reason I can't find it here but I have a PDF copy from somewhere so it is out there.

Go to our "Downloads" page and click on "M38 M38A1 M170 M606/Drive Train" then click on "Engine", then click on "TM 9-1826A YS637S carburetor manual w/YS950S data pages "

A word of caution on Fig 60 on page 114. The metering rod spring BB belongs the other side of the diaphragm DD. The corrected illustration is below here:

Carter YS Carburetor M38 YS-637

Post by spinnerhawken »

Hi guys,

Looking to rebuild my YS carb and found this thread. Looking for the Carter Carb manual. I checked for the Engine section in the Downloads but didn't see it. Anyone have a PDF manual that would cover both the 637 and the 950?

Thanks for any help

Hi Steve,
I thought it was available in the downloads section but can’t find it.

The only pdf file I’ve found is here:
https://archive.org/details/Tm9-1826Cha ... Tm9-1826a/

Portrayal Press sells an excellent paper copy (crystal clear) for $10 here:
https://www.portrayalpress.com/product-p/ex-637s.htm

Neither has the corrected Figure 60 shown above for the location of Item BB Metering Rod Spring.
Suggest making note of and copy-saving that image.

Good luck!
